PENINSULA, Ohio – The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad will kick off its 2003 season Feb. 14 with the Valentine’s Day Wine Tasting Express, “Romance on the Rails.”
The evening includes a journey through Cuyahoga Valley National Park while tasting fine wines and enjoying in appetizers created to enhance each wine.
“Romance on the Rails” will depart from the Rockside Station in Independence at 7 p.m. and return at 9 p.m. Cost is $40 per person.
Sugar is running. The “Maple Sugar Express” will run to Hale Farm & Village Feb. 15-16, and Feb. 22-23.
Passengers will travel back in time to the year 1814 via Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to meet a pioneer family who will share the ancient process of maple sugar production.
While at Hale Farm & Village, enjoy a pancake breakfast along with a tour of the farm.
Train departs Rockside Station in Independence at 10:15 a.m., returning at 2:50 p.m.
Cost is $15 for adults; $12, senior citizens; $8 for children 3-12. Children 2 and under are free as long as they sit on an adult’s lap.
Admission to Hale Farm and breakfast are additional.
