WOODSFIELD, Ohio – Over 90 head of cattle from across the state were exhibited at the Ohio Valley Cattlemen’s Association Preview Show April 14.
Four exhibitors walked away with grand and reserve champion titles and part of a jackpot totaling $1,800 in prize money. Junior exhibitor Katie Sutherly of Miami County was winner of the $500 Grand Champion Steer jackpot, sponsored by the Ohio Valley Cattlemen’s Association Directors.
Amanda Rinkes of Jefferson County exhibited the reserve champion steer.
Local winner. Laura Kline of Stark County and Joshua Greenhorn of Greene County took part of the jackpot and showmanship titles.
Kline took home the $200 reserve champion heifer award and the intermediate division showmanship title. Greenhorn won the $300 grand champion heifer award and senior division showmanship.
Rounding out the showmanship awards were Austin Trueblood of Highland County, junior showman, and Ethan Smith of Guernsey County, beginner showman.

Champion heifers, by breed, were exhibited by David Weiser, Muskingum County, Angus and Simmental; Chris Myers, Stark County, Hereford; Amanda Mootz, Highland County, Chianina; Melissa Walker, Highland County, Limousin; Jon Birney, Summit County, Maine; Greenhorn, Shorthorn; Kelsey Sheeley, Highland County, AOB; Kline, crossbred.
Champion steers, by breed, were exhibited by Bethaney Enos, Guernsey County, Angus; Brandon Pontius, Pickaway County, Chianina; Mark McDonnell, Tuscarawas County, Maine; Justin Pirogowski, Portage County, Shorthorn; Jason Hetrick, Sandusky County, Simmental; Matt Neiheisel, Tuscarawas County, market heifer; and Sutherly, crossbred.
