ALLIANCE, Ohio — The Marlington FFA chapter sent one individual to the District 3 Public Speaking Contest Feb. 8. Megan Sylvester competed in the extemporaneous category placing fourth with her speech on recycling.

WEST SALEM, Ohio — The Northwestern-Wayne FFA officer team has been preparing for the annual FFA week with spirit days, a fundraiser, a teacher appreciation breakfast Thursday and an assembly at the end of the week.

The assembly will include events from tractor races and milk chugging to elephant wars.

For the fundraiser, tickets will be sold during FFA Week for students to nominate a teacher they want to see pied in the face. All proceeds will be donated to the Mohican Church of the Brethren Grocery Bag Ministry.

JEROMESVILLE, Ohio — The Hillsdale FFA Nursery and Landscaping team placed second at the district competition Jan. 11, and second at the state pre-limb competition Jan. 17. They will advance to the state competition in March.

FFA members that competed were: Alena Arnold, Blayne Bartter, Briar Funk, Julia Harper, Brock Hoverstock, Logan Kessinger, Jessi Raubenolt and Garrett Wickham.
