‘Slimdown’ with weight control classes

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio, has updated its popular Slimdown classes, which will begin Jan. 14 and 15.

Slimdown, a six-week program taught by clinical nutrition professionals, provides a positive approach to permanent weight control through the development of healthy habits.

New points. New to the program is a more personalized plan to help individuals identify their goals and plan how they can reach those goals.

A maintenance plan has also been added.

Evaluation sessions for Slimdown will be Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at HM Home Care, 5211 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, Ohio.

The 1:30 p.m. evaluation will be at Humility of Mary Health Partners Business Development office, 4964 Belmont Ave., Liberty, Ohio.

There will also be an evaluation session Jan. 8, 7 p.m., at Assumption Village, 9800 Market St., Boardman, Ohio.

What to expect. Regular classes begin January 14 and 15.

Weekly classes offer a variety of topics to assist with a plan to develop a healthy lifestyle. Menus and recipes, along with weekly exercise and behavior modification techniques are provided.

Participants will learn how to eat healthier to lose weight. Diets will be individualized to incorporate diet restrictions for such things as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, vegetarian and food allergies.

Cost of the program is $150. Payment options are available.
