ORRVILLE, Ohio – Smith Dairy Products Company, the largest independent dairy in Ohio, has purchased the New Philadelphia-based Goshen Dairy distribution routes and processing plant in New Philadelphia.
The dairy is currently in individual negotiations with the milk shippers to Goshen Dairy.
The Bichsel family will retain ownership and management of the eight Goshen Dairy retail locations.
Smith Dairy Products is headquartered in Orrville, Ohio, and has production facilities in Orrville and in Richmond, Ind.
It manufactures a full line of dairy products, including Ruggles brand ice cream.
