GENEVA, Ohio – A War of 1812 encampment is set for June 21-22 at the Western Reserve Historical Society. The event will be held at Shandy Hall.
Shandy Hall has been seized by British infantrymen. See the American militia attempt to drive the British away. Reenactors will be on hand to demonstrate the different aspects of life as a soldier and a civilian.
See the raising of the colors, small arms demonstrations, and line dancing, 1812-style. Children can to join the mini-militia and learn how to tie sailor knots.
The event hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Shandy Hall’s regular hours are Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., May through Oct. 31. The home is located at 6333 S. Ridge Road West in Geneva.
Unless otherwise noted, admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. WRHS members and children 5 and under are admitted free. For more information call 440-466-3680.
