CARROLLTON, Ohio – The Sept. 15 Agriculture, Natural Resources and Conservation Expo 2007 also includes a mini-field trip for individuals interested in learning more about timber harvesting and woodlot management. Those attending are asked to wear appropriate clothing as the session will be held at a site previously logged.
The two-hour session covers streams and drainage crossings, roads, log landings and buffer zones.
Wagons for the timber harvest training for landowners will begin loading at 9 a.m. at the main forestry tent area; the program begins at 10 a.m.
Pre-registration is not necessary, however to ensure that a take-home packet of information is available, it is recommended that you make a reservation by Sept. 12. You may call the soil and water conservation district office in Jefferson County (740-264-9790) or Carroll County (330-627-9852).
