Alphabet Soup

Ingredients

• 1/3 beef bouillon
• 1/4 onion flakes
• 1/2 split peas
• 1/2 ABC macaroni
• Layer all ingredients in wide mouth jar in order given. Finish filling jar with any shape pasta (curly, seashells, wheels, etc.).
• Fill out a recipe card with the following instructions and attach to the soup mix.
• Additional ingredients to make soup:
• 1 lb. lean ground beef
• 12 cups water
• 1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes, undrained

Directions

Cook ground beef in large kettle; drain. Add dry soup mix, water and tomatoes, stirring to combine. Bring mixture to boil and reduce to simmer. Cook 30 minutes or until done.

Safety Tip: We know that meat is thoroughly and safely cooked by first cooking the ground beef, then adding the rest of the ingredients and bringing to a boil. Leftovers from this large quantity of soup will need to be refrigerated or frozen to safely store for a later meal.
