Christmas Dinner Rolls Wreath

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup green pesto
  • 4-5 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 20 cherry or grape tomatoes

Directions:

  • Allow the bread dough to rise to double its size. Form 24 small balls of dough.
  • Roll the balls in olive oil and form in a wreath shape on a baking sheet or several layers of aluminum foil with one circle of 10 balls and another adjoining circle of 14 balls. Top with garlic powder and salt.
  • Place a glass filled with hot water and covered in olive oil into the center of the wreath. Cover the glass and rolls with plastic wrap and then a dishcloth. Allow to rise until doubled in size, about one hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Brush the dough with the pesto. Tuck in the fresh rosemary sprigs and tomatoes in between the circles.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is a deep golden color. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Serve with dip or herbed oil in the center of the wreath.
