The Kentucky Derby is May 3!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb. deli turkey slices
- 6 to 8 slices gouda cheese
- 1 pkg. 2 dinner rolls
- 1/4 cup crumbled bacon
- 1/3 cup chopped, sun dried tomatoes
- 1 cup prepared Alfredo sauce
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 Tbsp. dried parsley
- 1/2 Tbsp. each garlic and onion powders
- 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
Directions:
- Cut rolls in half to remove the top half. Place the bottom of the rolls in a 9-by-13-inch casserole dish sprayed with non-stick spray or oil.
- Add half of the Alfredo sauce to the buns and spread with a spoon so that each roll is covered. Add half the slices of cheese. Layer the smoked or oven-oasted turkey on top of the sauce. Add the remainder of the sauce on top of the turkey slices and spread with a spoon, and then sprinkle the bacon and sun-dried tomatoes evenly across. Add the rest of the cheese to the top.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan with the brown sugar, parsley, black pepper, onion and garlic powders. Heat on low until the brown sugar is melted.
- Top the rolls with the “lids” of the buns. Pour the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls and use a pastry brush to brush the mixture all over the buns and in the crevices.
- Cover with a single piece of foil and bake at 375 F for 25 minutes until the cheese is melted. Uncover, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake 7 to 10 minutes more until the tops are golden brown.
