Ingredients
- 2 pkgs. dry yeast
- 1/2 warm water
- 1 1/2 s boiling water
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 1/2 brown sugar
- 7 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 eggs
- 5 1/2 to 6 cups flour
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/3 sugar
- 3 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes. Stir boiling water, oats, brown sugar, 3 tablespoons butter and salt together until lukewarm. Beat in eggs, 2 cups flour, raisins and yeast mixture. Stir in remaining flour until dough is stiff. Knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl; turn to coat surface. Cover; let rise until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours). Mix sugar and cinnamon. Roll out dough into 15×9 rectangle. Spread with remaining 2 tablespoons butter; sprinkle with 1/2 the sugar-cinnamon mixture. Roll from short side; place in greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 loaf pan. Cover; let rise 45 minutes. Bake at 350° 45 to 55 minutes until browned.
