- 2 (30 oz.) cans pear halves in heavy syrup
- 2 s orange juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
- 9 black peppercorns
- 1 tablespoon dried orange peel (optional)
Drain pears, reserving liquid in small saucepan. Add orange juice, cinnamon, clove, peppercorns and orange peel. Boil until liquid is reduced to about 2 cups. Add drained pears and continue simmering, about 5 minutes, until liquid is lightly thickened. Cool pears in poaching liquid; serve warm or chilled.
