To kick off National Pollinator Week, and to celebrate Salem becoming a national bee city through Bee City USA, the city’s parks and recreation department and local Ohio State University Extension master gardeners held an open house at a new pollinator garden June 21.

Solar panel manufacturer First Solar announced plans June 9 to build a third facility in northwest Ohio. The $680 million investment will double the company’s U.S. manufacturing capacity and create about 500 jobs.

The Ohio Power Siting Board will hold a public hearing June 8 on Clearview Solar I, LLC’s proposal to construct a 144 megawatt solar farm in Adams Township in Champaign County. The project would cover 1,195 acres of land.
