MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia University alumna Natalie Smith joined 4-H as a 10-year-old in Hancock County, where she and her two brothers attended county and state camps.

Fond experiences from those 4-H camps inspired Smith to establish the Natalie P. & Maynard H. Smith 4-H Camp Scholarship to benefit Hancock County 4-H’ers.

New renewable fuel plant will use animal fats

GEISMAR, La. — Tyson Foods and Syntroleum Corporation have given final approval for plans to build a $138 million renewable synthetic fuels facility in Geismar, La.
The facility, Dynamic Fuels, is a 50:50 venture between Tyson and Syntroleum to convert low grade, inedible fats and greases into renewable transportation fuels.
