SULLIVAN, Ohio — Members of the Black River FFA participated in the state leadership night hosted by Northwestern High School and the Ohio FFA State Officers. The leadership night’s theme was “communication, and working together to achieve a goal.” The officers led the students through a variety of workshops promoting leadership and teamwork.

Those who attended the evening included: Madison Edwards, Brandon Heath, Sierra Sturgill, Meghan Gallagher, Sierra Bourdess, Rachael Holt, Eric Cordonnier, Joey Rochford, Callee Aviles, Hannah Moskal, and Tony Strojin.

Throughout the evening, members had the opportunity to work together with FFA members throughout Medina and Wayne counties. One workshop focused on unscrambling words that led to the theme of how farmers will feed the world’s population.

Another activity mentioned was an article about “Paying it Forward” and how that affects a person’s self-worth and appreciation. In addition, each student had to share a goal that would help their community. The FFA members enjoyed meeting fellow members from other schools and working together to accomplish common goals.
