BLOOMINGDALE, Ohio — The Sunrise Rascals recently met at the Boyds’ home with eight members attending.

Members completed quality assurance and tag-in for small animals. It was also reported that the paper drive was a success.

Demonstrations were given on safety and health. Club members also worked on the flower beds at the fairgrounds.

The next meeting is at 6:30 p.m. June 18 at the McAfees’ home.

GREENFORD, Ohio — The Greenford Silver Spurs 4-H club held a meeting and discussed fundraisers and activities for this coming year.

It was decided that the group would advertise business names on T-shirts that the members would wear to the Canfield Fair and other activities.

The club held its first riding meeting at Buckeye Horse Park May 21. They practiced for the Greenford Memorial Day Parade.

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio — The May meeting of the Trumbull County Cows are Us 4-H dairy club was held May 17 at the Newton Falls library.

The club discussed how to make cheese baskets. The theme for 2008 is “USA American — Red, White and Blue.” Members were encouraged to find buyers for their baskets.

The club also discussed the fair theme, “Treasure Lies at the Fair.” The fair booth and barn decorations were planned to follow this theme and members and parents will help with the project.

Upcoming dates for 4-H activities are:

Camp Whitewood family weekend — June 12-15

Project judging — June 25, 5:30 p.m. at TCTC in Champion, Ohio

4-H Day at Cedar Point — June 27

4-H camp — Aug. 2

Summer Sizzle — Aug. 9

Dairy livestock enrollment deadline — May 31.

WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — The Country Classics 4-H club met May 21 at Shriners Aladdin Land. Three club members gave demonstrations.

Health and safety news featured food tips for picnics.

Club members signed a sympathy card for the family of Jenny Stokley, found of the Richmond Trailblazers 4-H Club.

The Country Classics’ car wash is scheduled for June 14 at NAPA in Wintersville.
The next meeting is at 7 p.m. June 18 at the Steubenville Saddle Club.
