HARRISBURG, Pa. — With the addition of a Red and White show in the dairy cattle competition, this year marked the first time all seven dairy breeds have been represented at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
The grand champion of the Red and White breed, Spungold MVU Lakeside Red, owned by Dale and Deanna Bendig of Gettysburg, Pa., took the title of supreme champion of the dairy show Jan. 16. Four-year-old Lakeside beat out 417 competitors.
Honorable mention supreme champion went to Bryant and Holly Hlavaty of Manheim, Pa., with their 6-year-old grand champion Holstein, Keystone Lee Lavender.
The judges were Jeremy McDonald of Middletown, Va.; Dave Parkinson of Canal Winchester, Ohio; and Christopher Connelly of Bellefonte, Pa.
