Ingredients:
- 2 cups canned or cooked dried beans (suggested: black beans or pinto)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion, finely diced, or onion powder
- Hot sauce (optional) to taste
Directions:
- Heat beans in a sauce pot. As the beans warm, mash them with a fork.
- Mix the sour cream, shredded cheese, spices, into the pot and stir until the cheese is melted and the bean mixture has a creamy consistency.
- Pour bean dip into a serving bowl. Add hot sauce and a sprinkling of shredded cheddar, if you like.
- Serve with vegetable sticks, low-salt crackers, or low-salt tortilla chips.
