Homemade Croutons

From leftover bun, to salad topping in a few easy steps.

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil as needed
  • 4 hamburger buns, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp. dried oregano
  • ⅛ tsp. ground thyme
  • ⅛ tsp. dried basil
  • salt to taste
  • coarsely ground black pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Drizzle olive oil over bread pieces in a large bowl; toss to coat.
  3. Spread cubes onto a baking sheet. Sprinkle garlic powder, oregano, thyme, basil, salt and black pepper over the cubes.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven until brown and crispy, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
