Change is inevitable. We don’t have to like it, but we do have to deal with it.
You probably want to brush off preparing any kind of emergency plan for your farm operation. We certainly all hope we never have to deal with an emergency or a disaster.
Ask the farmers in Louisiana, ask anyone who has had a barn burn. Hope and reality are two very different things.
Be prepared. September is National Preparedness Month. Farmers are encouraged to develop plans for their farms.
Why? Primarily to minimize potential chaos and enable emergency responders to respond with a reasonable knowledge of what is where on your farm, whether you are there or not.
Questions. Before you go into “it is nobody’s business what is where” mode, consider this – if you were not at the scene, who could quickly tell emergency responders:
