Hazard A Guess: Week of March 22, 2001

Hello from Hazard!

Gee, I think you’ve all gone back to sleep with the groundhog until winter’s over, because we haven’t heard from too many readers on our last two items.

We did receive a belated guess on Item No. 615. Leonard Bilek of Shreve, Ohio, and his brother, Art Bilek of Norton, Ohio, say it’s a machinery mover – a type of roller for moving heavy equipment. They sent a page (p. 2391, to be exact) of the Grainger catalog, which shows an identical item. They’ve seen steel ones, which look similar in design, although more modern.

Now, you’ll all have a second look at Item No. 616, shared by The Barn Consultant, Chuck Whitney. We didn’t receive a single guess on it last week, so we’ll feature it again for another go-round.

If you think you know what it is, write: Hazard a Guess, P.O. Box 38, Salem, OH 44460; or send an e-mail to: editorial@farmanddairy.com.

Happy Spring!
