Hello from Hazard!
Clark Colby of North Huntingdon, Pa., has solved a Hazard mystery: Item No. 885.
Colby says the item is a threading plate used by watchmakers and other vintage precision machinists to hand cut threads on small screws or to “chase” threads on damaged screws.
Each hole has a different thread size.
Colby guesses the item we showed is between 100 and 150 years old.

Item NO. 888 is a Heat Diffuser. It is used to prevent scorching of pots and pans. It can be used on gas or electric stoves. we use one everyday for our glass coffee pot. I also use when simmering sauces that have a tendency to stick.
