With a year of college behind her, Josie moved her stuff back home (it’s always more than you start out with) and jumped with both feet into the job market. Having no real job experience, it’s tough to get that first break. Somehow, babysitting and mowing lawns for family and friends just isn’t that impressive on a resume.
We had picked up a paper application from every place that said it was hiring. She had them filled out, ready to turn in the first day at home. Last year, her handicap had been her age. More than half the places she checked with dismissed her when they found she wasn’t 18.
This summer, with the age thing licked, there was another problem
