Joe Maruskin, of Canfield, Ohio, took Farm and Dairy along while skiing in Keystone, Colo., March 20. Joe is pictured at 11,500 feet overlooking the Rocky Mountains. Joe’s wife, Debbie, and daughter, Katie, were also along.

Sandy and Janice Hill, of Salem, Ohio, went on a Caribbean cruise in February. In St. Thomas, the couple, along with Farm and Dairy, took a tour of the historic Blackbeard’s Castle, a real pirate tower.

Travis and Kelsea Ebie went to the Smoky Mountains for spring break. They brought Farm and Dairy along for the ride.

This group went on a Caribbean Valentine’s cruise Feb. 13-20, and Farm and Dairy sure did feel the love!

Dale and Mary Sproul of Uhrichsville, Ohio, never miss an issue of Farm and Dairy when traveling to Florida to visit Dale’s brother’s family during February and March. Their daughter, Mandy Frink, makes sure they get a copy of the paper each week by sending it down Thursdays.

I have always enjoyed conversation with those who enjoy growing as well as hunting their own food. There is an insight that goes beyond the typical, because for each of them, this became a conscious choice at some point in their lives.

It must be because of the "aging process" -- med-speak for growing old -- but little annoyances are doubly annoying.
