COSHOCTON, Ohio – The Coshocton Soil and Water District awarded Bill and Caroline Daugherty and family of Fresno the 2004 Outstanding Conservation Farm award at the SWCD’s 63rd annual meeting and banquet Oct. 27 at the Coshocton Career Center.
Over 165 area residents and guests attended the event.
The Daugherty’s farm includes 900 acres in Millcreek, Keene and Crawford townships of Coshocton County with the majority of the land being highly erodible land.
Family tradition. Bill’s father, Martin, originally signed up as a SWCD Cooperator in 1966. In July of 1977, a conservation plan was developed for the Daughertys as well as a recently developed Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan to maximize the utilization of their livestock nutrients.
