DEERFIELD, Ohio — Deerfield Ag Services has promoted Benjamin Nething to grain merchandising manager. In his new role, Nething will oversee Deerfield Ag Services’ grain merchandising department.

After earning a degree in agribusiness and applied economics from The Ohio State University in 2014, Nething began his career as a grain merchandiser with ADM, working in Farina, Illinois, and Minneapolis. He joined the Deerfield team as a grain originator in the spring 2018.

He recently completed the Ohio Agribusiness Association’s LAUNCH program, an executive training course for emerging leaders in Ohio’s agriculture industry.

Nething grew up on his family’s farm in Ravenna, Ohio, and is no stranger to the region’s grain industry.

Nething has been working with the Deerfield Ag Services team to implement a program that allows customers to place a grain target with any Deerfield employee at any time — not just those that work in the grain department.
