NORTH JACKSON, Ohio — The Jackson Milton Livestock Club held a meeting Nov. 1. The club went over the newly written by-laws. A cheese basket sale was held to help raise funds.

The club also hosted a Christmas party Dec. 12 at the McMann Hall at Mill Creek Farm.

HANOVERTON, Ohio — The Hicks and Hayseeds 4-H group held a meeting Nov. 2 and elected new officers. The new officers are: Dallas Strong, president; Gage Chestnut, vice president; Kyle Miller, secretary; Tyler Miller, treasurer; Brooke Riffee, news reporter; Sam Hake, health and safety instructor; and Brandon Stonestreet and Nathan Miller, recreation leaders.

During the Dec. 7 meeting the group decided to volunteer for the Hanoverton Food Giveaway. This year the giveaway will be held on the Dec. 20 starting at 8:30 a.m. The group also decided to raise money and donate clothing to adopt a United Family.

The next meeting will be held Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

New officers are Ashley Pitorak, president; Tracey Teichman, vice president; Kelsey Zimperman, secretary; Shane Delbo, roll call recorder; Ryan Ivans, treasurer; Liesel Fenstermaker, news reporter; Melissa Nuzum and Katie Pitorak, historians; Jim Iubelt and Sarah Morgan, photographers; Mike Fenstermaker and Jared Zimperman, health chairmen; Donivan Petrowski, safety chairman; Kelli Briggs and Jared Zimperman, recreation; Gianna Messina, sunshine; Alex Smith, community service; Noah McCaskey, fundraiser; Joe McCarthy, picnic chairman; Bryan Briggs and Shelby Smith, environmental officer; Chad Delbo, pumpkin festival; Logan Walker and Elise Fine, barn decorating-beef; Madison Bean, Makayla Fritinger and Brook Fritinger, rabbits; Kyle Johnson, poultry; Melissa Nuzman and Alexis Smith, swine; Logan Walker, sergeant at arms; Bryan Briggs and Joe Collum, sales committee chairmen.

Important dates to remember are: Jan. 16, meeting at Munson Town Hall at 6 p.m.

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio — Blake Algarin, 2010 Mahoning County 4-H king and Western Reserve Ranger 4-H club member, participated in the Youngstown Christmas Parade Dec. 4.

During the weekend of Jan. 7, Delorean Jones, 2010 Mahoning County 4-H queen and Ranger 4-H member, will be competing with other fair queens from across the state for the 2011 Ohio State Fair Queen crown. The three day competition will be held during the Ohio Fairs Managers Conference at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus.

Western Reserve Rangers 4-H club invites all youth who are 8 years old and in the third grade through 18 years to come to the Jan. 13 meeting at the Ellsworth Fire Hall at 7 p.m.
