HARRISBURG, Pa. – TJSC Diamond 1A, a heifer owned by Jackson Mattocks of Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, was named supreme champion beef female of the Junior Breeding Beef Show Jan. 11 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
The other purebred grand champion won supreme champion title after rising above representatives of the Angus, Hereford, Limousin, Maine Anjou, MaineTainer, Shorthorn and Simmental breeds.
Breed standard
To compare the different breeds, judges Chris Cassady of Tuscola, Illinois, and Chris Mackey of Raleigh, North Carolina, evaluated each breed champion heifer to their breed’s standard.
