PALMYRA, Ohio — The Southeast FFA chapter held its 65th annual parent-member banquet March 30. State degree recipients are Michael Kline, Olivia Shaulis, and Kelsea Ebie.

American Degree recipients are Kelsea Ebie and Brandon Loebick.

Award recipients include: Star Greenhand, Brooke Tessean; Star Chapter in Agricultural Placement; Courtney Montgomery; Star Chapter Farmer, Danielle Whitted; Star Mechanics, Seth Johnson, Nate Aliff, and Michael Kline.

Scholarship recipients include Danielle Whitted and Seth Johnson, both going to Ohio State ATI, and Ashley Hench. The top fruit seller was Amber Zavara.

The 2017-2018 officer team is: president, Amber Zavara; vice president, Michael Kline; and assistant, Hannah Michael; secretary, Emily Booher and assistant Carley Horner; treasurer, Brooke Tessean and assistant Ross Slechta; reporter, Shawnee Wilt; sentinel, Olivia Shaulis, and assistant Russell Pack; parliamentarian, Derek McKelvey; Alexis Bixler, chaplain.

Jeff Kiko, of Kiko Auctioneers, sold 22 student shop projects for more than $9,000. Proceeds will go toward college scholarships and FFA camp and convention costs.

SULLIVAN, Ohio —On March 4, the Black River FFA attended the Marysville FFA Judging Invitational at Marysville High School. Team members participated in the horse judging, general livestock, and nature competitions.

The nature interpretation team included Collin Burnett and John Bricker. Burnett placed 22nd and Bricker, 26th, out of 106 individuals.

The horse judging team of Madison Stuart, Kelly Wilson, Brianna Englehart, Mya Kunsman and Sora Edwards placed second, out of 28 teams and 265 individuals. Stuart placed 12th individually.

The general livestock team earned 35th place out of 75 teams and 619 individuals. Team members included Eric Cordonnier, Hannah Moskal, Callee Aviles and Taylor Hendershot.

Black River middle school student Shacoy Steele also participated in the event.
