MEDINA, Ohio – Medina County 4-H will present a six-class tractor certification course Jan. 13 through Feb. 17 from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Medina County Career Center – O.C. Duke Building, 1101 West Liberty Street, Medina.
This safety course focuses on common farm equipment accident situations, including PTOs, highway safety, chain saw and lawn mower safety and more. Anyone 14-16 who will be operating a tractor over 20-horse power is invited to join the class. However, any individual interested in tractor safety is welcome to attend.
Parents must attend an orientation meeting with their child Jan. 6 from 9-10 a.m. at the MCCC – O.C. Duke Building. At this meeting, materials needed will be handed out along with an overview of the class.
The cost is $18 – plus $3.20 postage if book is mailed. Prepayment is required and youths must have read Units One and Two prior to the first class on Jan. 13. Payments will be accepted Jan. 6 at the orientation meeting.
