- 1 box chocolate brownie mix
- 1/2 cherry pie filling for brownie mix
- 1/4 cherry pie filling for icing
- 1/3 white baking pieces
- 3 ozs. cream cheese
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 whipping cream
- 1/3 semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 teaspoon butter
Grease 9-inch pan. Prepare brownie mix as directed on package. Add cherry pie filling (you may want to reduce the oil and water since you are adding cherry pie filling to the mix.) Bake per package directions and cool in pan 30 minutes. In saucepan, heat and stir white baking pieces over low heat until melted. Cool slightly. In medium size bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and extract at medium speed. Stir in melted pieces. In small bowl, beat whipping cream until soft peaks form. Fold whipping cream and some of the cherry pie filling into cream cheese mixture. Spread over cooled brownies. Loosely cover and chill at least 30 minutes before serving.
