Sausage Gravy and Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. pork bulk sausage (I recommend Italian flavored)
- ¼ cup flour
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2½ cups milk
- Dash hot sauce, optional
- 1/2 tsp. ground thyme
- To taste black pepper
Directions:
- Place sausage in a skillet over medium/high heat. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to break up and crumble sausage as it cooks, cooking until completely browned and no pink remains. I don’t drain my skillet. If there’s too much grease, sometimes I dab with a paper towel to remove the excess.
- Sprinkle flour evenly over the meat. Stir frequently until flour is absorbed. Add butter, and slowly pour the milk into your skillet, stirring as you pour. Add hot sauce and seasoning.
- Continue to cook, stirring frequently until mixture is thickened.
- Serve over the Homemade Southern Biscuits!
