Vacation with us…Solomon

In 2008, Farm and Dairy ran a story on the Cross Border Animal Power Project for Peace, which is a program that teaches ox-driving skills to people in war-torn Uganda. Vicki Solomon of Huntsburg, Ohio, (second from left) was one of the instructors. She remembered to take Farm and Dairy along on her adventure and posed for this pictured in Lokung, Uganda. Solomon said the worldwide economic crisis is affecting the supply of emergency food aid to this region, making it more critical than ever for people there to learn how to use ox power for food production. Solomon may return to Uganda this summer through the program, which is now called Peace Harvest.

  1. I made a short documentation in Lokung village in 1971 about
local instrument making technique. I would like to send them some of my photographs from those makers and other generous villagers in Lokung. Can you give me an e-mail adress to a contact
person in Lokung who can print and give them for example to
    teachers from Lokung?

Best Regards from Gotland in Sweden
