Hazard A Guess – Week of Dec. 28, 2000

by Farm and Dairy Staff

Hello from Hazard! I hope your Christmas was merry and your New Year will be a happy and healthy one!

Well, just as I suspected, our early deadline prevented any responses on last week’s puzzler from reaching us in time. So we’ll just rerun the photo for Item No. 610 and let you have another week to mull it over.

We did hear from two more readers confirming Item No. 609 as a device used to make cardboard egg cartons. Hugh Pallister of Willoughby, Ohio, and Mrs. James Goodhart Sr. of Kinsman, Ohio, sent in notes to let us know what it was. Goodhart’s parents were in the egg business for many years and used this equipment. She has some of the egg cartons still in her home.

While eating the leftover holiday cookies, take another look at Item No. 610 and send us your guesses. Write: Hazard a Guess, P.O. Box 38, Salem, OH 44460; or via e-mail editorial@farmanddairy.com.

Until next week…
