CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Four members of Zane Trace High School’s FFA chapter competed at the state level in the Food Science and Technology Career Development Event Dec. 5 at the Ohio State University.

Zane Trace’s team consisted of Sarah Cox, Emily Wright, Chelsi Hempstead and Samantha Grizzell. They placed seventh overall out of 19 teams.

On the morning of Dec. 11, a large semi-truckload of fruit arrived at Zane Trace’s agriculture department. Students worked hard throughout the day to unload, sort and deliver more than $32,000 worth of nuts, beef jerky, apples, oranges and fruit baskets to customers who had placed orders in October through the FFA sale.

The money from this fundraiser will help to send members to the Ohio and National FFA Conventions, FFA Camp Muskingum and career development event competitions.
