We need this program everywhere! The Los Angeles Times has a great article on L.A. Kitchen, a 20,000-square-foot facility just north of downtown. “It’s a combination teaching kitchen, reclamation center for wasted food, and feeding facility for low-income senior citizens.” Says one aspiring chef, “This program for me was not just about learning to cook, it was life-changing.”

Everybody’s talking about… pumpkin lattes! So, there are two types of people: Those who go ga-ga over Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and those who, well, could care less. For those in the first category, the Internet is already abuzz with the news that the fall seasonal lattes will be made with, drum roll, real pumpkin this year! You’re welcome.

Walking the talk. The Cleveland Clinic is putting its employee food options on a diet. The hospital is saying sayonara to the fast food eatery McDonald’s in its food court. McDonald’s has operated at Cleveland Clinic for two decades, but it will shut down on Sept. 18.
