(Photo courtesy Boardman Township Park) The late Janie S. Jenkins, known to Farm and Dairy readers for her "On My Mind" column, donated her Southern Park Stables home to Boardman Township Park. Southern Park Stables was part of the Southern Park Racetrack, established in 1911. This racetrack, with entrances off McClurg Road and Washington Boulevard, and the surrounding acres were a huge draw for people who wanted a day in the country.
