Hello from Hazard!
Two additional readers correctly identified Item No. 846, an adjustable boiler tube cleaner, which Joe Betz of Library, Pa., answered last week.
We heard from Suzanne Rew of Monroeville, Ohio, and Richard Grimm, Warren, Ohio, who also knew how our tool was used.
Betz told us last week that we’re showing just the working end. There’s usually a 7-foot long handle attached.
The mailbag and in-box were empty this week; no answers to Item No. 847, so we show it again this week.
It’s cast iron, about 8 1/2 inches long, with 2 1/4 inch hammer head “jaw-like” pliers. It’s grooved across the jaws. The back of the jaw adjusts to grasp an object approximately one-half inch in diameter. The curved jaw has a little V groove in the end.
