Special Moments

So special when he softly rattles dishes

at the sink, and, on top of his hard day,

I hear him working as they clink.

So special when he offers me a night time

snack in bed, and I stay within my “nest”

so I don’t get cold feet instead.

So special when he brews us both another

cup of tea, and he serves, and sits and sips

at his, and has dessert with me.

So special are the moments we can share

the times we eat, though the food we favor fondly,

it’s the time that tastes most sweet.
