CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — In June, six members of the Zane Trace FFA chapter attended the first session of FFA Camp at Camp Muskingum near Carrollton, Ohio, along with more than 250 other FFA members from around the state.

The theme for this year’s camp was “Pirates of Leesville Lake” and many of the camp activities had a pirate theme, including a lifeboat building contest, capture the flag game and camp treasure hunt.

Members took part in a team-building ropes course, sports tournaments, overnight camping trips, camp dance and a water carnival. The camp activities were led by past Ohio FFA officers and FFA advisers from more than 20 chapters.

In July, members of the 2009-2010 Zane Trace officer team met for their work day and officer retreat.

The day began at Zane Trace High School where the group spent time identifying strengths and weaknesses of the chapter and creating a plan of action for improvement.

Officers then learned the responsibilities of their elected positions and assembled the chapter calendar for the 2009-2010 school year.

After their work was completed, the officers enjoyed pizza from the Kinnikinnick Carry-Out before heading to the Hocking Hills Canoe Livery for a fun trip down the Hocking River.
