Century Village to host blacksmithing workshop

BURTON, Ohio – Blacksmiths throughout the Western Reserve will gather on the grounds of Century Village Museum for the second annual blacksmithing conference June 30 and July 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Guest speakers.

This symposium will feature Bruce Woodward and Mark Segarrd. Woodward is a professional blacksmith with a contemporary flare. His modern designs use both the traditional blacksmithing techniques coupled with modern metalsmithing.

Segarrd specializes in the colonial style of blacksmithing.

Demonstrations by these blacksmiths will begin at 8 a.m. until noon, and 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Admission for the conference is $25 for nonmembers, and $20 for members each day. Nonmember cost for both days is $35, and $25 for members. To obtain a registration form contact the Geauga County Historical Society.

Century Village Museum is located 35 miles east of Cleveland at the intersection of state Route 87 and 168.
