LISBON, Ohio – Seamstresses in the county are encouraged to sit down at their sewing machines and craft a special entry for the youth-adult style show at the Columbiana County Fair this year.
The 15-category style show is scheduled for Aug. 2 at 5 p.m. at the midway stage.
Criteria. The event is open to all Columbiana County residents. Age for the categories is determined by age on entry day. Entries close July 24. The entry fee is 50 cents.
A packet containing tags for entries and additional information will be available to those who have entered July 28.
Registration the day of the show is one hour prior to starting time. Entries are limited to one in each category per contestant.
Judging will be based on the total look, including fashion, grooming, construction, fit, design, posture, poise and personal qualities.
Classes. Classes include: Home-sewn outfit modeled by a boy under age 3; home-sewn outfit modeled by a girl under age 3; home-sewn outfit modeled by a boy 3-4 years old;
Home-sewn outfit modeled by a girl 3-4 years old; home-sewn outfit modeled by a child 5-6 years old; home-sewn outfit modeled by a child 7-10 years old;
Garment made and modeled by youth 9-11 years old; garment made and modeled by youth 12-14 years old; Garment made and modeled by youth 14 and over;
Garment made by other and modeled by an adult; formal wear made and modeled by youth 14-18 years old; formal wear made by other and modeled by any age; and costume modeled by any age.
The term garment means constructing a top, skirt, pants, shorts or dress and coordinating the rest of the outfit.
