BRECKSVILLE, Ohio – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad takes passengers into the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park to see what the park has to offer.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad offers scenic excursions, bike and hike option, and special events. The summer schedule operates Wednesday through Sunday, June 11 to Aug. 29.

Train options. Hartville Connection: Ride the train to Akron Northside Station, where Akron MetroRTA buses will transport passengers to the Hartville Flea Market and Marketplace.

Allow seven hours for this excursion. Available on Thursdays and Saturdays. Fee is $25 adults, $23 for seniors and $17 for children 3-12. Boarding at Rockside Station, 10 a.m.

Akron Train: The railroad transports passengers to Akron, where they have your choice of excursions to Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, Inventors Hall of Fame Museum, Akron Zoo or Quaker Square. Allow seven hours for this excursion. Available on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Fee is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for children 3-12. Additional admission charges may apply. Boarding at Rockside Station, 10 a.m.

Akron Train to Hale Farm and Village: Ride the train to Hale Farm and Village. Allow seven hours for this excursion. Available on Thursdays and Saturdays. Fee is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $12 for children 3-12. Additional fee charged at Hale Farm. Boarding at Rockside Station, 10 a.m.

Scenic Limited: A round-trip excursion through the park to the Village of Peninsula. Allow 1 3/4 hours. Available Wednesday through Sunday. Fee is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for children 3-12. Boarding at Rockside Station, 10:15 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Peninsula Explorer or Boston and Beyond: Take a ranger guided or do-it-yourself hike and still have time for lunch or shopping in the Village of Peninsula. Available Wednesday through Sunday. Fee is $16 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $9 for children 3-12. Boarding at Rockside Station, 10:15 a.m. Return train departs at 1:45 p.m.

Canal Limited: Travel to Canal Visitor Center, a restored 19th-century home offering exhibits on the Ohio and Erie Canal and the human history of the Cuyahoga Valley. Allow two hours. Available Wednesday through Sunday.

Fee is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for children 3-12. Boarding at Peninsula Depot Visitor Center, 11:15 a.m.

Southern Scenic: On Saturdays, enjoy a 1 1/2 hour round-trip ride through Cuyahoga Vallen National Park. Available Saturdays only. Fee is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for children 3-12. Boarding at Akron Northside Station, 12:30 p.m.

Bike ‘n. Hike: Bike or hike one way along the Towpath Trail. Flag down the train at any of the yellow stations between Rockside Station in Independence and Peninsula Depot Visitor Center. Train staff will load and transport bikes for no additional charge. Fee is $8 adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children 3 -12 (one way); $16 adults, $13 seniors and $9 children 3 -12 (round trip).

From Akron. The Cuhahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and Akron Metro Regional Transit Authority will join forces to offer reduced fares departing form the Akron Northside Station.

From June 15 to Aug 24 the Akron Metor Train will depart Akron Northside Staiton at 10:15 a.m.

Passengers will journey through Cuyahoga Valley National Park and choose either a layover in the Villge of Peninsula or at the park’s Canal Visitor Center, or simply a 1 1/2-hour scenic roundtrip ride.

Fees are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors, person with disabilities and students 18 and under.
