Expo sales average $2,055 per head

COLUMBUS — The major attractions at the Ohio Beef Expo March 15 were six purebred sales. Over 347 lots were sold with an average price of $2,055 and a gross of $713,050.

Angus

There was a total of 51 lots with a sale gross of $104,850. The sale average was $2,056.

The high-selling bull was Lot 5, which sold for $5,000 to John Poorman, Somerset, Ohio, consigned by Paradise Cattle Co., Ashville, Ohio.

The high-selling female was Lot 37, which sold for $2,900 to Stephen Watson, Sarahsville, Ohio, consigned by HFS Angus, Radnor, Ohio.

Hereford

There was a total of 45 lots with a sale gross of $50,800. The sale average was $1,693.

The high-selling bull was Lot 15, which sold for $4,000 to John Regula, Beach City, Ohio, consigned by Berg Polled Herefords, Dalton, Ohio.

The high-selling female was Lot 13, which sold for $3,500 to Helsinger Polled Herefords, Germantown, Ohio, consigned by J&L Cattle Services, Jeromesville, Ohio.

Limousin

There was a total of 20 lots with a sale gross of $46,125. The sale average was $2,306.

The high-selling bull was Lot 2, selling for $2,200 to Evans Farms, Pedro, Ohio, consigned by Circle L Limousin, Burbank, Ohio.

The high-selling female was Lot 13, which sold for $2,770 to Hayhook Limousin, Lexington, Okla., consigned by Circle L Limousin, Burbank, Ohio.

Maine Anjou

There was a total of 103 lots with a sale gross of $249,175. The sale average was $2,419.

The high-selling bull was Lot 22, selling for $7,000 to Garth Fri, McArthur, Ohio, consigned by Cunningham Family Farms, Coolville, Ohio.

The high-selling female was Lot 112, which sold for $7,750 to Ryan Ott, Churubusco, Ind., and consigned by Guyer Cattle Co., West York, Ill.

Shorthorn

With a total of 64 lots, the sale gross was $133,100. The sale average was $2,080.

The high-selling bull was Lot 15, going for $5,900 to Eastern Sky Farm, Hillsboro, Ohio, consigned by Spring Haven Farm and Clark Show Cattle, Troy, Ohio.

The high-selling female was Lot 40, which sold for $5,100 to Nicole Johnston, Wauseon, Ohio, consigned by Belle Arbor Show Cattle, Almont, Mich.

Simmental

There was a total of 64 lots with a sale gross of $129,000. The sale average was $2,015.

The high-selling bull was Lot 71, selling for $3,700 to Todd Hoppel, Hanovertown, Pa., and consigned by CLO Simmentals, Lebanon, Pa.

The high-selling female was Lot 22, selling for $5,000 to Hall’s Simmentals, Statts Mill, W.Va., and consigned by Lazy H Farms, Fleming, Ohio.
