NEWARK, Ohio – Old barns that have been renovated will be the feature during a Barn Tour in Fairfield County Sept. 22.
The event will focus on barns at three locations.
The Tim White farm at 5811 Bremen Road features a Pennsylvania Forebay barn with very unusual construction. The tour will start at this stop at 9:30 a.m.
The second stop will be at the Tim and Kim Hicks farm located at 5450 Old Millersport Road. This stop will include a log barn and a double crib log barn as well as a timber frame barn and many unique outbuildings.
Lunch will be served at the Fairfield County Extension office at 831 College Ave., Lancaster.
After lunch there will be a tour of the barns at the John Stitzlein farm located at 10545 Snyder Church Road.
Here visitors will see the renovated barn, currently being used for crafts, which was moved from an adjacent property to its current location.
The cost for the event is $7 per person. This covers materials and lunch. Advance registration is encouraged by sending a check to OSU Extension, 831 College Ave., Suite D, Lancaster, OH 43130.
