TRANSFER, Pa. – A signed York Town grandfather clock sold for $40,500 to a bidder from Lancaster, Pa., at the June 15 estate auction of Alice Nelson in Grove City, Pa.
Reimold Brothers auctioneers conducted the sale.
The clock was crafted in the 1700s in York with a cherry cabinet, brass face and brass works, and signed by John Fisher.
Prior to the sale, the clock was estimated to bring $15,000 to $20,000.
