Kristina Boone named director at Ohio State’s ATI

Kristina Boone has been named director at Ohio State University's Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster.

WOOSTER, Ohio — Kristina M. Boone, Ph.D., has been named director Ohio State’s Agricultural Technical Institute in Wooster, effective April 1.

Most recently, Dr. Boone was head of the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education in the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University.

She also was the director of an interdisciplinary secondary major in Global Food Systems Leadership, and as part of a team, developed an interdisciplinary doctoral program in leadership communication.

Prior to serving as department head, Boone held teaching and research appointments.

She received her bachelor’s degree in agricultural communication at Texas Tech. Her master’s and Ph.D. are from Ohio State University in agricultural communication and extension education, respectively.

Boone was an Ohio State University Extension water quality agent in the Darby Creek Watershed, and co-led a water education program at Ohio State during her graduate program.

As Ohio State ATI director, Boone is responsible for managing the administrative, human, and financial resources for Ohio State ATI. She will provide leadership for all programmatic and administrative functions including on campus and web-based instruction.

Ohio State ATI, located in Wooster, is an associate degree-granting institute within the university’s College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, offering 26 programs of study.
