COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Fair is having a party for those who are interested in making extra money this summer.
Just outside the OHIO gate July 15-17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., free Coke products and cookies from Kroger will be given away to those who apply for a job at the Fair.
“Our greatest need is night laborers,” said Susan Weyrick, personnel director. “We hire 200 people to clean the grounds each night of the fair after closing, in addition to other positions.”
Jobs available. Jobs at the Ohio State Fair provide a great opportunity to make extra money and enjoy the fair. Employees who complete their assignments may be eligible for prizes.
Available positions and application sites include:
* Skilled trades, laundry and restroom attendants, dormitory supervisor, litter control and miscellaneous positions. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 16 at the personnel office in the adminstration building.
* Ticket taker, ticket seller, shuttle bus conductor, parking attendant and traffic controller. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 1 at the building on the west side of the grounds near the Lausche Building.
* Concessionaire jobs, miscellaneous positions in foods or games. Applications will be accepted July 15-Aug. 18 at the mobile personnel office on 11th Avenue located west of OHIO Gate
What’s needed. Job seekers should bring two pieces of identification, which can be an Ohio driver’s license or state identification card and a social security card. Job seekers under age 18 must also bring a certified copy of their birth certificate.
