Ohio wines are making a name for themselves

WOOSTER, Ohio – The winners of annual Ohio Wine Competition have been announced.
Judges awarded 30 gold medals -a record number – to competitors.
For three days, May 9-11, seven experts sniffed, slurped, discussed, rated and awarded a total of 175 medals to winemakers from across the state.
Ferrante Winery of Geneva led the medal cavalcade with 10 golds (Cabernet Franc Blush, Vino Della Casa, Gewurztraminer, Late Harvest Vidal, Golden Bunches, Cabernet Franc Ice Wine, Bianco, Vidal Blanc, Riesling and White Catawba) and 22 medals overall.
