UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A Women in Dairy 2004 conference is scheduled Oct. 20 in Carlisle, Pa.
Keynote speakers are Rosemarie Rossetti and Cris Peterson, both authors and syndicated columnists, who will discuss how to overcome adversity and embrace change.
Break-out sessions will focus on sharing better ways to manage communications, calves, and finances on the farm.
The conference is presented by Dairy Alliance, a Penn State Cooperative Extension initiative; AgChoice Farm Credit; and Land O’Lakes.
Rossetti will present Just Like Riding a Bike. In 1998, Rossetti was paralyzed when an 80-foot tree fell on her while she was riding a bicycle. Today, she shares the lessons she has learned and demonstrates how to live life with conviction.
She is also the author of Take Back Your Life! a collection of inspirational articles from her syndicated column.
Cris Peterson, the 2004 World Dairy Expo Dairywoman of the Year, explores how to make progress in a hectic, frustration-filled farm life. Her presentation will offer seven keys to embracing change that will have participants enthusiastically focusing on the future.
Currently operating 1,100 acres and milking 450 cows, she rolls up her sleeves daily to co-manage the herd, handle the finances and oversee the farm’s labor force.
Break-out sessions. Conference participants also will have an opportunity to select two break-out sessions to attend in the afternoon.
Registration. Registration for the conference, held at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center in Carlisle, is $95, which includes lunch and all program materials.
